Alex Uttermann has been on stage since the age of five. A musician, actress, poet, lecturer and dancer, she has appeared in a variety of venues including The Actor’s Theatre in Santa Cruz, CA, Highland Grounds in Los Angeles, and as a soloist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, NY. Alex has been associated with TransFormance Theatre for two years.

An entrepreneur as well as an artist, Ms. Uttermann has been at the helm of several independent creative ventures, including DeMaria Studio, a computer game design and journalism company. She has presented at a number of conferences, on the subjects of girls in gaming and electronic gaming communities on the internet. Alex has designed computer games and co-authored five books about computer gaming.

A proponent of the healing arts since 1990, Alex is a Reiki master, a meditation teacher, and a spiritual guide. She has applied her practical knowledge of healing modalities to corporate and organizational gatherings, including Xerox Park and The Burning Man Festival. Much of her time is spent in India, studying subtle energy techniques.
