Hewlett Packard Case Study
Jonathan Rosen Associates/TransFormance Theatre and Bob Foxworthy Consulting were engaged by the Software Services Division of Hewlett Packard to co-design and implement a one-and-a-half-year program entitled "Creating a Balanced Organization."
The motivation to do this was the division's low scores in the HP company-wide survey, in a number of key areas.
Using TT, and the integrated art and science approach to accelerated culture change, we worked at all levels of the billion dollar, five thousand employee division. Within three months, the targeted areas showed marked improvement, which continued over the next several years.
In working to sustain these gains, SSD recognized that its people were its competitive edge, and that their satisfaction and growth was key to the division's continued success.
In order to focus the organization's attention and resources on supporting the satisfaction and development of its people, we helped them develop and implement a set of metrics that tracked how effectively the people systems were operating in the division. These metrics were given appropriate weight, to balance the business metrics in judging the overall success of the division.
See the letter from the then HR Director of the Software Services Division of Hewlett Packard, which summarizes the results of the "Creating a Balanced Organization" initiative.
